ABOUT VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
Mike Evock at Racing for Heroes with the approval of VIR has been working tirelessly the last 2 months on building 2 new amazing tracks for us to run on, Rally Track and Shooters Track.
Recently chosen as one of Car and Driver Magazine’s top six road courses in the nation, VIRginia International Raceway is a multi-purpose road course offering professional and amateur auto and motorcycle racing, as well as a wide range of track events. Each year, VIR draws tens of thousands of spectators for some of the best road racing in the country. Its uphill Esses and sharp elevation changes not only make it a fan and driver favorite but have also established it as a prominent testing facility for the automotive industry.
While racing is the heart of VIR, the expansive 1,300-acre property located at the Virginia-North Carolina border is so much more. America’s first true “motorsport resort,” it’s an entire vacation destination with a number of onsite hotel and lodging options. Within the property’s rolling hills and miles of lush forest, guests can enjoy unique amenities such as the exclusive Driver’s Club, karting, off-road racing, skeet shooting, pistol, and rifle ranges, skidpad, dining options more. RULES TO FOLLOW
1. THIS IS NOT A RACE! We cannot state this enough. Drive within your limits.
2. Your truck must have the following:
– Good tires with tread height more than 4/32
– VHF radio programmed to channel 151.820 MHz. Handheld radios are acceptable for this run however hard-wired radios will be mandatory for all future events.
For help on acquiring a radio please reach out to our sponsors.
– Working headlights, taillights
3. 100% Sober Driving. Alcohol consumption or drug use will not be tolerated on track or anytime you are driving. If you are caught drinking you will be asked to leave.
4. NO one is allowed on the track at any time unless it’s your turn to run.
5. Everyone in your truck must sign a waiver. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you or any of your passengers missed signing the waiver during registration, please see a team member at check in.
6. If there is an accident on one of the tracks. Please NO PHOTOS. Parties involved need to have a chance to file a claim with their insurance provider, and any photos could make that process difficult.
We will have a team of photographers out there on both tracks all day Saturday working hard to capture you at your best. Photo packages are included with registration and will be provided via dropbox link.
WHERE TO STAY
We will have primitive camping on-site available for tents and campers. A FEMA trailer will be stationed in the camping area that will contain showers and bathrooms.
If you have a camper and prefer to have hook ups – there will be 20 spots available.
In addition, we have group rates set up and available at two local hotels with a total of 90 rooms blocked off. You will receive an email with hotel information once registered, or feel free to send inquiry to firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope to see ya out there. This will no doubt be an epic weekend full of great memories and new friendships. Can’t wait to see you out there in the dirt, but until then “keep the rubber side down and WELCOME TO THE REVOLUTION!”
