North Florida Trail Run
Friday February 26th and Saturday February 27th
The run will consist of three groups of ten trucks each (with the addition of TORR team members).
Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie. You will be assigned a group which you will be in for the length of the event.
A full tank of fuel each day will be plenty for the trails. Day 1 will be 25 miles of trails in Talladega National Forest Alabama and day 2 will be 95 miles of trails in Blackwater State Park Florida.
Starting Friday at 10:00am in Oxford, AL we will travel 23 miles to run two trails in Talladega National Forest. These are slow speed trails with some technical areas, 25 miles total.
There is wash out, mud, mountain view points, some tree branches and obstacles.
This is intended to be a shorter day to allow us time to get to the hotel in Navarre, FL friday evening. Afterwards we will take the four hour drive to Navarre, FL. Dinner is on your own Friday evening.
Saturday morning we will start at 8:00am in Navarre Beach, FL and travel 29 to the trail head in groups for the day. We should finish up around 5:00-6:00PM Central Time and head back to Navarre Beach for dinner catered by TORR.
Sunday is not an event day, but you’re staying at one of the best beaches on the east coast, take advantage and enjoy the day!
There are areas at each trail head to air down and apply off road modes before we start to run.
You will need to bring drinks and lunch both days as the trails are remote and we will be stopping for breaks, lunch etc. along the trails.
We will travel in groups from Alabama to Florida but you’re not required, just need to be at the designated location for the start of the Saturday portion. We will stop for gas and such as needed, usual traveling in a group set up.
All trails on this run are in state parks. We will respect the parks and obey the rangers. Do not leave trash on the trails, including cigarette butts, please clean up after yourself. We want to be welcome back.
All trails are two way traffics, even though pretty remote, we will still need be cautious for passing and cross traffic.
We will be in the mountains and southern woods. There are potential for snakes, insects, wild life such coyotes and possible bears know in these areas, even though we will not likely see them, just be cautious when out of the vehicle.
Absolutely no alcohol or other altering substances will be permitted while driving the trails, to or from the trails or in the groups traveling to Florida.
